A message from Nick Timothy MP:

I want to say thank you if you took time to complete my local survey on digital ID cards. With a total of 244 responses, mainly from the West Suffolk area, you can see the results below. It’s clear that an overwhelming of those who took part oppose the introduction of digital ID cards. It’s not too late to take part in the survey. If you would like to do so, please click here.

Best wishes

Nick Timothy

  1. 86% oppose the introduction of digital ID for all UK citizens.

2. Given that the proposal did not feature in Labour’s election manifesto in 2024, 87% of respondents believe there should be a public consultation / debate over the issue.

3. 63% of respondents did not feel that the present approach of passports and driving licences being used as photographic ID was ‘inadequate’. 37% felt this present approach was inadequate.
