It was important to Nick Timothy MP to speak in a special debate on children’s social care in the House of Commons on Thursday 30 October 2025.

As a recent Ofsted report into social care in Suffolk reminds us, there are very serious challenges in the system that must be overcome, and MPs should work cross-party to do that.

There are connected challenges with special educational needs – and again I referred to our experiences in Suffolk – which we need to fix.

He was pleased, though, to mention the brilliant work of Cangle Foyer in Haverhill. The team there do heroic things. Every young person deserves a fair crack at life. It’s our duty to make sure they have it.
