A message from Nick Timothy MP:
Thank you to everyone who has completed my survey on the scrapping of the two child limit.
The results show the vast majority of residents (78%) oppose this move, while most of those who took part in the survey are concerned about its impact on public finances, do not think it is right for the taxpayer to have to pay for parents to have more children than they can afford and are concerned it will disproportionately benefit many who have not contributed.

- When asked: “Do you support or oppose the change?”, 78% of respondents said they oppose it, with 70% strongly opposing it.
2. This question: “Do you think it is right for the taxpayer to pay for parents to have more children than they can afford?” 80% said no.
3. This question: “Do you agree or disagree with the concern that Labour’s move to scrap the two-child limit could increase unsustainable pressure on the welfare system and on UK public finances?”: Over three-quarters agreed, and 71% strongly agreed.
4. The question: “Research shows this change will disproportionately benefit families from particular countries such as Pakistan and Nigeria, giving extra cash to these families no matter how much or how little they have paid into the system. Does this make you more or less likely to support moves to reduce welfare spending?” Overall, a majority (53%) said more likely, 17% said less likely and 29% said neither more likely nor less likely.
