Nick makes the case for dualling line to Cambridge

On 9 June 2026, Nick Timothy MP submitted his response to the official consultation on East-West Rail, pressing for double track on the full Cambridge–Newmarket line. 

At an estimated £73 million, it would transform and enhance connectivity. 

This makes sense – not least because of the limited turnaround capacity in Cambridge.
