Nick Timothy MP met a representative of the Environment Agency on 27 January 2026 to discuss sluice gate maintenance at Clare Country Park, the local challenge of flooding for villages such as Cavendish, and risks from Acorn’s proposed bio-digester near Withersfield.
Nick also challenged them about red tape affecting local businesses: Chase Plastics in Brandon has explained how the Packaging Recovery Note system undermines British companies, and Nyobolt’s Haverhill battery plant almost went bust because of Environment Agency bureaucracy.
