Nick Timothy — the MP for West Suffolk — wrote to Suffolk County Council to back the residents of Wickhambrook in their call for a lower speed limit to be introduced along the A143 at Wickham Street (see his letter below). A bus collision in November only reinforced the need for action. He fully supports the residents, and their councillor Bobby Bennett, in their campaign for safer roads.

He was also pleased to visit residents to discuss this issue in Poslingford, Higham and Holywell Row on 10 January 2025, and in Kentford on 17 January 2025. He is talking to the county council about how parish councils can take more responsibility for road safety in villages.
