During Treasury questions on Tuesday 8 April 2025, Nick Timothy MP asked the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, what the Government is doing about China’s abuse of the world trade system.

In particular, he asked her what ministers will do to challenge China’s status as a developing country at the World Trade Organisation, which is the means by which Beijing avoids many of the rules imposed on countries like Britain.

She avoided answering in any useful way.
