Suffolk County Council has agreed to fund a bus service from Studlands and Exning to the town centre following the cancellation of the number 11 service to Cambridge.
Welcoming the news, Nick Timothy MP said: “This is what we can achieve when we work together. I want to thank Newmarket councillors Andy Drummond and Janne Jarvis in particular for their public campaigning and behind-the-scenes graft.
“As I said in my own letter to the County Council it is crucial that local residents do not get cut off from access to shops and services. This is a victory for people in Newmarket and Exning!”
