On Monday 14 July 2025, during a debate in the Parliament’s delegated legislation committee, Nick Timothy MP showed how the Government is piling costs which will increase bills for every family in the country.
As he noted, we will soon spend £8 billion a year to stop renewables generating power when they do too much, and £4 billion a year for back-up from gas when renewables generate too little.
