Working to give YOU a greater say over road safety where you live

Dear fellow resident

I am asking people who live in West Suffolk to sign a petition to call for parish and town councils to be given greater control of speed limits and road safety policies in their communities.

With the Government reorganising local councils, and Suffolk moving to a unitary model, I think it is important we make sure local communities get stronger powers to decide things for themselves.

And in so many villages across West Suffolk residents tell me they are frustrated by their inability to change speed limits or have traffic-calming measures and speed cameras established where they know there are problems with speeding cars and trucks.

This is why I am calling for parish and town councils to have the freedom and financial power to:

  • Change speed limits
  • Erect suitable signs
  • Introduce traffic-calming measures
  • Establish speed cameras

If you agree, and if you want to tell me about the challenges of road safety where you live, please sign my petition by clicking here. You can also send this petition on to anybody in West Suffolk who wants a greater say in the safety of the roads where they live. To do so, please share the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K8VXFDH with your friends and neighbours.

Alternatively, you can print out a petition sheet below and ask your friends and neighbours to sign it the old-fashioned way and posting it to Conservative Office, Moulton Road, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 8DY OR by scanning it and attaching it to an email to send to Nick at [email protected]. You can also ask me a question using that email address.

Best wishes

Nick Timothy MP
