The Ministry of Defence has confirmed to Nick Timothy MP that the US Air Force has frozen the Local National Direct Hire programme, meaning no positions at Lakenheath and Mildenhall open to local residents as long as the freeze continues.
Unfortunately, the Minister has said “there is no further planned engagement” with the USAF about the decision, so the Government will do nothing to rectify the situation.
This inaction is incredibly disappointing.
Mr Timothy has written to the commanders at both RAF bases to find out more.
