Nick Timothy — the MP for West Suffolk — joined Royal British Legion volunteers at Sainsbury’s in Mildenhall (on Friday 1 November 2024) to help sell poppies in the run-up to the Remembrance Sunday commemorations this coming weekend.
Nick welcomed the chance to show his support for the charity, which has done so much to help provide life-long support to serving and ex-serving members of the British Armed Forces, their families and dependants through injuries, the loss of loved ones and hardships.
Nick said: “The volunteers from the Royal British Legion do an incredible job. I enjoyed the chance to meet them, and to chat with residents who stopped by.
“Poppies are a such a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by so many in defence of our country and freedom. Like most families in Britain, I’ve had close relatives serve in the military and I know how important the Legion is.
“Please wear your Poppy with pride ahead of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day this year.”
