“Some of the old-fashioned things that aren’t done — maintenance of sluice gates, dredging rivers, clearing drains; we all need to get better at things like that. We [also] probably need to look at the farm payments system to make sure that ditches are dug. There is much more that can be done,” said Nick Timothy, MP for West Suffolk, when asked about the issue of flooding.
