The Government allowed the trial of two spies for China to collapse earlier this year. This is a matter of serious national security, and yet the Government’s dubious story keeps changing.
On Monday 13 October 2025, Nick Timothy MP asked the Security Minister, Dan Jarvis, whether any minister, or the National Security Adviser, or any other special adviser or senior official, such as the Cabinet Secretary, was sighted on the decision regarding evidence sent to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
On Thursday 16 October 2025, Nick challenged a Cabinet Office minister about just one way in which the Prime Minister’s version of events is falling apart (see clip below).
Again, the answer was pitiful and exposed the dishonesty in the Government’s story. Its position is unbelievable and untenable, and he will continue to pressure ministers to tell us the truth.

Based on the answer, it seems the Prime Minister knew exactly what the Government did — and did not do — despite the obfuscation.
