Thank you also for taking part in my recent survey on GP services. The results show 72 per cent say there is not enough local provision.
Most are favourable about the treatment they receive, and 26 per cent get appointments within 24 hours when needed.
However, 38 per cent must travel elsewhere for crucial tests and scans, with a quarter of those who have to do so.finding this difficult. To see a summary of the results, please see below.

- The question: “Do you think there are enough GP surgeries in your area to meet local demand?“: 72 per cent said there are not and only 17% said there are.

2. The question:“Have you had any problems registering with a local GP?” 98% have had no problems.

3. This question: “How long do you typically wait to secure an appointment at your local GP surgery?” 26 per cent could get an appointment within 24 hours, while a total of 73 per cent who responded said they could get an appointment within a week. 27 per cent said they had to wait a week or more.

4. This question: “How satisfied are you with the experience you have had with reception arrangements at your local GP surgery?” 44 per cent expressed satisfaction while 30 per cent said they were dissatisfied. The largest single share (26 per cent) said they were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied.

5. This question: “How satisfied are you with the medical treatment and advice you receive from your GP?” A majority (57 per cent) expressed some form of satisfactio, while a minority (17 per cent) expressed some form of dissatisfaction.

6. This question: “Can you access the checks (e.g. blood tests) you need at your local GP surgery, or do you have to travel elsewhere to get these done?” 38 per cent said they have to travel, while 62 per cent said they can access checks locally.

7. This question: “If you need to travel for tests or appointments, how easy is it to secure transport?” Of those who have to travel, a quarter (25 per cent) said this was difficult, while 44 per cent said it was easy.
